Cool, Happy and Very Much in Love on CLM

This Western man and Chinese woman look very cool together!Much thanks to (CLM) for introducing such a special woman in my life.
I saw Aishan's CLM profile in March 2009. I sent her a simple "Kiss" Message at the time. Honestly, I was not hopeful I would hear back from her. Sending a CLM Kiss is a nice flirt, but a personal message is better. Fortunately, she replied. Our initial messages were short and simple. Her English writing was very good and we began friendly conversation back and forth taking our time getting to know each other. Soon we felt comfortable enough to take it to a personal level and chatted through our IM/Email accounts.
Aishan was so easy to communicate with. We laughed and joked about everything. We started off friendly, which is a good start to any relationship. There was no pressure trying to rush romance. We got to know each other genuinely. We talked at least 2 times a day every day mostly.
By July we felt comfortable enough to take it a step further. We decided on meeting. I booked a trip to China for September/October. As with most first greetings, we both were unsure of what to expect. We kept it as friendly as possible agreeing to meet as friends and see how we feel for each other later. We planned on enjoying the sights, company and have fun.
I flew from Boston, Massachusetts and landed in Guangzhou 23 hours later. I was so tired! Aishan met me at the airport and we shared a shared friendly hug. I checked into my hotel, showered and enjoyed a late dinner at a restaurant. I was feeling adventurous even though I was tired. I was in China after all! Why not stay out and have a few drinks? We went to a cool R&B/Hip Hop club named Hei Hei. Ok, let me be honest and say I enjoyed a LOT of drinks that night. Not sloppy drunk, but feeling quite good. By 2:30am or so we left in a taxi to my hotel. I gave her a good night hug and the taxi continued to her home. I made it to my room and slept like a baby on this SUPER HARD BED!  Aiyaaah! China’s hotels have very hard beds! It didn't matter. I was juiced, extra tired and expected to sleep late into the morning.
Cool and Happy Too! Nice looking cross cultural relationship.9am - I hear a knock at the door. I’m thinking it’s housekeeping wanting to clean the room so I called out, "No Thank you!" KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK!  "No housekeeping, thanks!" I called out louder to the door… KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK! I sleepily got up and went to the door saying once again that I didn't need housekeeping, until I heard Aishan's voice laughing beyond the door. Oh my goodness! She is at my door so early in the morning? Aiiyaaa! There goes my wonderful morning sleeping in late! I complained playfully with her as I showered up quickly getting dressed. It’s a funny memory for us now.
The next few days we had a great time exploring the unique city of Guangzhou. I grew up watching over a thousand Asian films since 5 years old, so Guangzhou felt like home to me in a way. Yet, excitingly different as well. A few days later we flew to Sanya, Hainan Island. If you haven’t been, GO! It is China's Hawaii! Absolutely, a beautiful island! Romantic, soft white sandy beaches, hot sun with stunning turquoise waters of Yalong and Dadong Bays. A few days later we went to Hong Kong for a bit of Victoria Bay excitement. The romance blossoming was inevitable and I realized it was turning into something special, but I wanted to be sure and kept my emotions in check. Being in such a setting can get you caught up in the moment and not think so clearly.
We took a train back to Guangzhou sincerely falling for each other much sooner than we both expected. It was China’s 60th Birthday celebration, so I had an extra treat of fireworks along the Pearl River. The week went by quick. It was an amazing vacation and sadly over. I gave deep thought on the plane home of a future together with this wonderful Chinese woman.
Whoa! As diamond rings go that's a pretty big rock!Aishan and I continually talked online daily. We started missing each other and eventually hinted that it would be wonderful to share our lives together. I planned my second trip to China and flew back to Guangzhou on February 11th and shared Chinese New Year celebrations together. It was a cold, chilly in the city this time. I treated New Year’s Eve dinner with her parents, older brother and sister in-law. Greeting Aishan's father with, "Man soy! Man soy! Man-man soy!" got a big laugh out of him! I knew all those Chinese films I watched would come in handy sooner or later! I was jovial in speaking some minor phrases of Cantonese during dinner. "Ho ho mei!" (Very tasty). We all enjoyed a lovely meal together. This was a time for happiness after all. Gung hei fat choy!
New Years Day, during the evening, fireworks were ablaze in the night sky and crowds of people filled the streets in front of the hotel along the Pearl River. We decided to walk to one of our favorite restaurants up the street called, Rendezvous. It’s lovely chic looking restaurant known for their cheesecake desserts! After a nice dinner with wine, the plates were taken away and I presented Aishan with a beautiful diamond ring and asked her to be my wife. She happily said yes and I was the luckiest man in the room that night! She shed a few tears as we shared a special promise to be loving, patient and caring to each other for the rest of our lives.
Aishan and I had an early start with the K1 Fiancé Visa process almost 6 months ago. Our interview date is in June. Wish us fortunate blessings & good luck.
Cool, Happy and Very Much In Love! How can you beat that?
